DECA had their third meeting on Tuesday, September 28 to help new and returning members find their leadership roles.

Under the instruction of the DECA team leaders, members took personality surveys to help determine their roles in upcoming competitions.
“The purpose of the DECA meetings are to prepare for competition; role plays, marketing skills, strategic thinking,” Team Leader Melanie Garcia said. “We specialize in getting people ready for real life by teaching interview skills, comprehensive skills, and professional thinking.”

Using what each member learned about themselves from the surveys, they were given different leadership roles and participated in roleplaying in preparation for competition.

“I am most excited for DECA competition[s],” Team Leader Leslie Mendoza said. “It is something different and such a unique experience. We get to meet people from different schools who have similar interests.”

DECA members found the meeting to be informative as well as entertaining.

“I think the meeting went amazing,” Team Leader Edelin Cruz said. “Everyone was participating, it looked like they were having fun, and I can’t wait for the next one.”
