Valley Football defeated Western on Thursday, October 3rd at Western High School for the

televised Thursday Night Lights weekly game.  Wide receiver, Larry Perry, with an exceptional game, was the Thursday Night Lights MVP.

Perry’s three touchdowns helped the Vikings to their 47 to 0 victory over the Warriors.  Perry had three carries for 100 yards, with two catches for 65 yards as well as three tackles and several kick-offs.

“Perry is the kind of kid that makes coaches and the entire athletic department look really well.  He is good-natured, with great behavior” and he excels on the field Assistant Principal Thomas Smith explains.

Valley Varsity Football also had the “once in a lifetime” experience, according to Assistant Principal Mr. Smith, playing in a college stadium on September 28, 2019.  The Vikings had the opportunity to play in UNLV’s current stadium during its last year of use for UNLV as UNLV transitions to the new Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Larry Perry started off the game with a “career long receiving touchdown.  75 yards to the CRIB,” says Perry. This first play of the game excited the Vikings, as they battled the Cheyenne Desert Shields.  With an unfortunate loss, the Vikings played tough, ending with a 28-7 loss but gaining the opportunity to experience playing in a college football stadium.
