Valley’s Marching Band delighted fans at Sam Boyd stadium during their halftime performance on September 28th, playing Dante’s Inferno.

The band has been working hard to prepare for football season and upcoming marching band competitions.  They practice every day after school, and they have been traveling to all of the away “home” games this semester.

The band is heading in a great direction, according to Principal Ramona Esparza.  The band has gone from understanding music arrangement to choreography.

“The quality of music speaks volumes for all Vikings,” says Esparza.

The program has been building over the last year and is reaching new heights.

“Other people look at Valley like they have a program that people want to be apart of; they are transferring schools just for band,” according to Director Gary Brown.  He adds, “Remember it’s not about the competitions; it’s about affecting the students lives in a positive way.”

The band’s performance at Sam Boyd stadium showcased their musical talents as well as their new uniforms, illuminating the fans with the fiery showcase that drew in the audience.
