Valley’s Boys Cross Country team earned second place while the girls earned third place at the NIAA Championship held at Veterans’ Memorial Park in Boulder City, NV on Saturday, Nov 2.  Both teams are heading to the Nevada State Championship at Rancho San Rafael in Reno, NV on November 9 and 10.

 

The boys team is led by senior Christian Franklin, who placed first in the race.  Donovan Jones placed third, and Christian Howe placed tenth. The other members include Koby White, Stiiven Castro, and Francisco Ortega.

The girls team is led by senior Anaelly Manzana, who placed eighth.  The other members include Kelly Carranza, Brenda Garcia, Yatziry Urrutia, Teresa Galan, Naomi Reyes, and Emmely Minoth.

“Individually, Christian Franklin won the regional championship title and Donovan Jones placed third, “ says Coach Sergio Segura.  He adds that “Both of them made the All Region team.”
